Waveny Volunteers Honored with New Canaan Community Foundation Awards

Waveny LifeCare Network was proud to attend the New Canaan Community Foundation Volunteer Recognition Awards where two special Waveny volunteers were honored. The Compassion Award was bestowed upon Carol Bauer, for her work within the Waveny LifeCare Network. Carol has been involved in our Spiritual Care Program since 2012, playing hymns at the piano. Carol continues to volunteer twice a week for our Worship services which are especially important to those in our memory care community. As a certified Chaplain Carol has also served as a volunteer advisor and mentor to our Spiritual Care program, providing leadership and expertise to enhance the spiritual journeys of those we serve. Carol exemplifies the spirit of a devoted and committed volunteer. She is involved on a very personal level, quietly and gently ministering comfort and presence to patients, residents, families and all those who work at Waveny.
The “Paws-On” MVP Award was presented to Frances the St Marks’ Church Pastoral Pup and Waveny pet therapy dog. Both honorees have contributed invaluable hours of service to Waveny, our residents and patients and we couldn’t be more thrilled they have been recognized.
