New Canaan Rotary and Exchange Clubs Fund Kitchen Remodel at New Canaan Thrift Shop

Waveny LifeCare Network is extending heartfelt appreciation to the New Canaan Rotary Club and the Exchange Club of New Canaan for their generous grant funding, which has enabled significant upgrades to the kitchen area at New Canaan Thrift Shop. The Shop’s volunteers are thrilled with the transformation which will make their work easier as they carefully wash all glassware, dishes and china before being displayed for sale, quite a labor of love! The project is a wonderful example of our three nonprofits coming together to support and encourage each other as we pursue our mission of caring for our community.
A community treasure since 1930 and one of the oldest volunteer-run thrift shops in the country, the New Canaan Thrift Shop, part of the Waveny LifeCare Network, is housed at its landmark corner location at 2 Locust Avenue in New Canaan. Promoting sustainable shopping and fashion, The Shop accepts donations of gently used articles of clothing, accessories, jewelry, books, sporting goods, small appliances, housewares, china, silver, paintings, crockery, toys and games. All proceeds benefit Waveny’s Patient Care Fund, providing uncompensated care in our local communities.
