History of the New Canaan Thrift Shop and 2 Locust Avenue

Did you know that the building at Number 2 Locust Avenue, home to the New Canaan Thrift Shop since the mid 1950’s, has enjoyed a rich history in its’ 180 years? The building has been used as a temperance society meeting place, a location for Jewish festivals, a coffin making business and even a morgue!
