Waveny announces its last call for golfers, tennis players and sponsors to participate in its 14th annual “Swinging for Seniors” Golf & Tennis Outing scheduled for Monday, May 23 at the Country Club of New Canaan. All funds raised provide financial assistance to residents and patients who cannot afford the full cost of their care at Waveny, as well as special program enhancements.
The “Swinging for Seniors” event will begin with registration and lunch, followed by a golf shotgun start and a tennis round robin in the afternoon. Golfers will enjoy several hole-in-one opportunities on the course with prizes including a 2016 Corvette courtesy of Karl Chevrolet, and $10,000 cash sponsored by Stronghold Insurance & Financial Services. Last year, the unthinkable happened and when a longtime event golfer bagged the hole-in-one to take home a 2015 Corvette Stingray valued at $75,000. The event will conclude with a gourmet reception featuring an awards ceremony and raffle drawing.
Waveny is proud to welcome 12 Gold-level sponsors to this year’s event. Top supporters include: Muffy and Tom Lewis, Louise B. Goodridge, Dede and Jim Bartlett, Bourgeon Capital Management, Joan F. Dionne Foundation, Marigrace and Frank Dubas, Linda and Jay Twombly, American Transit Insurance, Four Friends of Waveny, JPS & Co. – Jim Slattery, Morrison Community Living and Employee Benefits Solutions.
The Outing’s Silver Sponsors include McKesson, Connecticut Pharmacy, Unitex, Robinson+Cole, People’s United Bank, and LH Brenner – Thompson & Peck Insurance.
Special thanks to First County Bank, Bankwell in New Canaan, Robin and Brian Leach, the Carey Family, and Susan and Harry Rein.
