Waveny Care Network’s Development Committee announced this year’s annual fund drive kick-off designed to achieve a vital technology upgrade to Waveny’s decade-old digital network infrastructure.
"For this year’s Annual Appeal, we are asking our donors to help invest and improve technology throughout all areas of Waveny Care Network,” said Sharon Stevenson, Waveny Development Committee Chair and Board member. “This technology upgrade will enable Waveny to keep up with current trends in healthcare, improve current services for our residents and prepare for the future.”
“We are delighted that the entire Development Committee of Waveny is leading our effort this year,” said Stevenson. “Each of these individuals has been instrumental in reaching our donor constituents and together we can reach our goal. Their continued support is greatly appreciated.”
The cornerstone of this project will be the creation of a virtual environment and will include a migration to virtual servers, upgraded email platform with advanced archiving capabilities to meet and exceed healthcare regulations, and upgrades to Waveny’s operating system and core programs. The benefits of this upgrade will include enhanced data recovery and resource allocation, maximum workplace productivity, economic turn-key updates, and the promotion of a ‘green’ initiative by increasing energy efficiency and decreasing a reliance on hardware.
“This large but essential investment in technology will directly benefit all whom Waveny serves,” said Judy Bentley, Development Committee member and past Board Chair. “By improving our technology, we will be able to expand our current system and improve our effectiveness in areas of healthcare management such as Electronic Medical Records.”
“Most importantly, this virtual environment will help us to be more technologically efficient and allow our staff to spend more time with their patients and family members,” said Julianne Grace, Development Committee member and past Board Chair..
