Waveny Thanks Jeniam Foundation for Generous Grants

To the Editor:
On behalf of our board of directors, staff, patients and residents, I would like to thank the Jeniam Foundation for selecting Waveny Care Network as the recipient of a second generous grant to further support the Care Tracker Long-Term Care Tracking system, as well as additional funding to purchase two iPads for Waveny Care Network.
Our Care Tracker initiative complements our migration toward electronic documentation, helps to enhance chart accuracy, leads to increased reimbursements, reduces risk, and streamlines inter-facility communications at Waveny Care Center. Importantly, this increased level of efficiency enables our staff to spend more time with our patients and their families. Our constant commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for those we serve is at the heart of this project.
The use of the Apple iPad within our therapeutic recreation programming represents a hugely creative leap forward in music therapy, in addition to providing ”app”-based cognitive, physical and sensory enrichment for older adults living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and memory loss. The second iPad will serve as a powerful portable tool to help facilitate our Clinical Liaison’s ability to visually convey the defining points of Waveny’s continuum of care in a highly impactful and educational manner.
Grants to Waveny from organizations like the Jeniam Foundation often represent the most compelling way to improve the quality of life for many residents in our community. We are most grateful.
