Waveny Invites All for "Antique Appraisals & Antique Motors" at Community-wide Birthday Celebration
Posted on March 30, 2010
Among the featured appraisers at the April 22 event will be acclaimed television appraisers, Peter Curran, Lark Mason, Charles Rudig and Nan Chisholm, as well as some of New Canaan’s very own antique experts.
New Canaan – Waveny Care Center has big plans to celebrate its 35th year of serving the greater New Canaan community with a special town-wide event – and you’re invited.
On Thursday, April 22 between 4 and 7:30 p.m – thirty-five years to the day since the organization opened its doors to the community – Waveny welcomes guests to join in a special evening of “Antique Appraisals & Antique Motors” on ‘Main Street’ at The Village at Waveny Care Center, 3 Farm Road, New Canaan.
Waveny’s “35th Birthday Party” will feature a display of antique and classic motorcycles, street fair cuisine, and free verbal evaluations of antiques and art by famous television appraisers.
In appreciation of 35 years of community support, the event as a whole – including appraisals – is being offered free of charge to attendees. Due to anticipated high volume, Waveny respectfully asks guests to observe a limit of two appraisals each and to bring in photos of large objects rather than the pieces themselves. Firearms, regardless of age and functionality, are prohibited.
“We can’t think of a better way to say ‘thank you’ to the community for 35 years of continued support than through an unprecedented town-wide birthday celebration,” said Heather Neff, Chief Executive Officer of Waveny Care Network. “We are incredibly delighted to host this unique and exciting event, and think it’s something that New Canaan residents will truly enjoy. We hope everyone will join us in celebrating one of New Canaan’s very own ‘classics,’ Waveny Care Center, and allow us to publicly show our appreciation for the community, individuals and organizations that have nurtured our organization from a skilled nursing facility into the comprehensive continuum of care we are today.”
“Waveny’s 35th Birthday Celebration promises to be a community event like no other,” said local resident and business owner, Doug Zumbach, who has played a pivotal role in coordinating the classic motorcycle component of the event. “The bikes we’ve arranged to have on display at Waveny on the 22nd are incredibly unique and will impress party guests and classic motorcycle enthusiasts alike.”
