Adult Day Participant shares distinguished Nautical History
Posted on July 22, 2016
Waveny LifeCare Network’s Adult Day Program participants enjoyed a special nautical-themed program led by the Program’s very own participant, Bill Gray. A lover of all things nautical, Gray was a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, and holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Michigan. He shared his personal experiences and memories, and described in detail the ships and oil tankers he helped to design and build. Among them was the Manhattan – the largest oil tanker in the world at the time it was built. He also discussed his participation in the esteemed America’s Cup, where his sailing team placed both 2nd and 3rd.
