They employ exercise and therapeutic strategies to address impairments resulting from orthopedic, neurological or cardiopulmonary conditions, and provide the expertise and motivation necessary to help patients reach their goals.
For those whose ability to function has been impaired by physical injury, disease or disability, our skilled occupational therapists can help to increase or restore the highest level of independence in activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, homemaking and social experiences through specialized activities designed to improve function.
Notably, Waveny Care Center is the first rehabilitation center in Connecticut to offer advanced rehabilitative therapies using innovative Bioness® technologies on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The revolutionary Bioness® NESS H200™ hand device accelerates rehabilitation, intensifies therapy and may help return lost hand function to patients affected by stroke or spinal cord injury.
The discreet Bioness® NESS L300™ leg device assists patients who are affected by Drop Foot as a result of neurological disorders including stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy. In addition to facilitating a more fluid gait, the device may help return lost leg function
Our speech pathologists work with patients who have undergone procedures affecting speech and language capabilities or who have impairments due to neurological disorders impacting speech, swallowing and/or cognition.
Whether following an inpatient stay or aiding in the recovery from an injury, illness or other type of medical condition that requires rehabilitative therapy, our Outpatient rehabilitation services are available to everyone age 16 and above. For your convenience, we offer a dedicated gym and parking lot for patients receiving outpatient therapies and services.
